Chemical protective clothing should be used to avoid electrostatic and exothermic reactions

Chemical protective clothing is a personal protective equipment that needs to be properly used, maintained and kept.

Improper used or wrong maintenanced will reduce the protection performance. I am the news editor who remind you to avoid static electricity and exothermic reaction when using chemical protective clothing.

1. Avoid static electricity

In certain conditions, such as dry and cold climates, protective clothing can generate and release static electricity. Releasing the electricity is not usually dangerous unless the generating spark may ignite flammable gas or disturb the wearer. So under such condition, Measures should be taken to reduce possible electrostatic discharge when working around flammable chemicals. In these cases, the following steps are recommended (but not limited to the following steps) (1) Sprinkling water, using protective clothing, increasing humidity in the working area; (2) When using anti-static the commercial objects, equipment and working staff on the ground, the electrostatic dissipation treatment is used with inside and outside of the protective clothing. (3) Test for the electrostatic dissipation of workers should be taken before entering the operation area. However, in explosive and flammable conditions, even if complex and meticulous measures are taken to control the generation and dissipation of static electricity, there may be uncertainties such as uncontrollable, flames or explosion causing the serious injury.

2.Avoid exothermic reactions

Some chemicals react with water to produce great heat.If the protective suit is contaminated with large amounts of these chemicals, which react with water, it can be damaged by high temperatures when it is washed off in the field. Dry sand or non-reactive absorbent should be used to remove chemicals before washing with water.

Nowadays, there are also a lot of antistatic chemical protective clothing on the market, the European standard is EN1149, as long as it is in line with this standard are antistatic, so we must see clearly when buying, the following is in line with the European standard antistatic standard.
