The difference between the levels of cut-resistant gloves

Cut-resistant gloves are a type of personal protective equipment widely used in a variety of industrial and occupational fields. Different countries and regions have established various standards to ensure the quality and performance of these gloves. The cutting grade of anti-cut gloves that meets the EN388 standard is divided into 5 levels, from level 1 to level 5. The larger the number, the better the anti-cut performance.

Cut Resistant Glove Grade

Level 1:

Suitable for very low cutting hazard. These gloves can protect hands from minor scratches from objects like paper, but are not guaranteed to be protected from actual blades. They are generally suitable for jobs that do not involve sharp objects, such as car repairs or landscaping work.

Level 2:

Suitable for low cutting hazard. This is a good level of protection for most construction work, automotive assembly or packaging work.

Level 3:

Suitable for medium cutting hazards. Provides protection for light glass handling and metal stamping operations.

Level 4:

Suitable for high cutting hazards. These include most glass handling and metal stamping jobs, as well as food processing and more.

Level 5:

Suitable for extreme cutting hazards. These gloves are used for jobs involving very sharp blades and the like, such as meat butchers, as well as heavy metal stamping and flat glass work.
