First, masks names difference 

Medical masks

Medical protective masks are suitable for high-risk environment, such as staff in fever clinics and isolation wards in epidemic areas, intubation, high-risk workers, etc.

Medical surgical masks are suitable for personnel to wear when performing low-risk environment. It is suitable for the public to see a doctor in a institution, outdoor activities, and be in densely populated areas.

Disposable masks are suitable for the public to wear in indoor working environment with relatively large number of people, ordinary outdoor activities, and stay in densely populated places.

Non- masks

Anti particle respirators are suitable for industrial places. It can be used to replace the protective mask when staying in a high-risk environment for a short time. Specifications are kn95, Kn90, etc.

Daily protective masks are suitable for filtering particles in air polluted environment in daily life.

Secondly, Structure and outer packaging information difference 

Generally, non- masks are equipped with filter valves. Article 4.3 of the Chinese mask standard GB19803-2010 clearly stipulates that "masks should not have exhalation valves", so as to avoid droplets, microorganisms, etc. from exhaling through the exhalation valves, thereby harming others. The civilian respirator allows an exhalation valve to reduce exhalation resistance and easier for operators.

On outer package, the product name, standards, protection grade and other information are required on the package. The security guard in the name includes the words "" or English "surgical" and "", which can generally be determined as a mask.

Medical masks have different standards in different countries and regions. The following is a list of Chinese standards.
